Default Power loss

Hey everybody! I am a Noobie and I hope not to beat an old and resolved topic, just unsure how to appropriately address it in a search query. I'll figure it out soon...
Summary: My kids brought my truck (1997 Dodge Ram 1500, 152k mi.) home from school with the CEL blazing in all of its glory, and significant power loss. She won't go over 65 mph and struggles to get there. My first thought was the bad gas and fuel filter, and in order to keep the genius engineers employed, they put it in the most inaccessible place they could. Instead of dropping the fuel tank and working my way forward, I replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv valve and removed/ reinstalled professionally cleaned fuel injectors and rail. I was expecting a shower of gas when I disconnected the fuel supply, instead it dribbled. I did find a cracked 1 1/2" long vacuum hose in front of the throttle body which took care of the CEL, but not the power loss. Was my first instinct of the fuel filter/pump correct, and is there a way I can test it myself? Or does it sound like another doohickey?
