Default 392 Engine Covers

Has anyone looked into if it's possible to dress the 2011 5.7l RAM engine like the 392? I love the 5.7L but it does have a huge plastic cover that in my opinion, isn't very attractive.

several people have painted up the factory plastic pieces to dress up the engine compartment. I'll admit, unlike the 6.1's ours aren't very pretty with the cover off either...I guess that's the price of mass production.

Well, have ya looked underneath the covers on a 6.1? Talk about UGLY!!!!

I got some covers fabbed up for my 6.1L that look great. Unfortunately they are no longer available.

Only what I've seen in pics, which were from the dealer book so I'm sure it was the show car all dressed up. I will say that the 6.4(?!) challenger I test drove the other day was a beastly machine. Made me kinda wish my truck was a stick!

The 392 cover won't fit the 5.7L, it's a totally different intake design and it won't allow for the placement of the throttle body on the trucks. Best be is to paint the OEM cover, several people have done this and it looks very nice. Me, I just swapped to a 6.1L intake manifold that's p/c brilliant black.

3GCustomz has a nice set of half covers that are available for the 5.7L RAM so it'll at least cover up the coil packs. You can also shave down the plastic cross hatching on the intake manifold and then paint it as well if you want to clean up the engine bay a bit. Here's the link to the half covers:

Honestly I don't see the point in trying to dress up the valve covers and all that because you can't really see them that well even with the plastic cover off. Best thing is a 6.1 intake manifold painted on our trucks
