Ok, here is my plan for the next few weeks:
Day 1 (today): Go to the local farm store and get two 20,000 pound rated D rings.
Day 2: Go and find some distributer of steel and get a 1/2 inch thick steel plate and some angle iron, and enough heavy duty bolts to install it across the front of my frame.
Day 3: Remove front bumper, make all measurements and a wood template, cut steel plate, weld on D rings, and hopefully install onto the truck with little to no problems
. I plan on welding the angle iron to the back of the plate and to the back of the frame after bolting on for a little added strength.
Any suggestions, warnings, or tips to make this go as easy as possible and the hooks not rip off the front of the truck on there first use
? These most likely will be heavily used and I do not want the possiblily of them failing
Ill post pics here when i get it all done!
