Default Fuel pressure/ fuel flow

How do I determine if my fuel flow is adequate so I can eliminate the fuel filter/ pump as the source of my power loss problem? I plan on getting a loaner fuel pressure gauge from the parts store today. Something akin to a measured gallon in X amount of time, and what is the gph for this pump?
