If I could legally obtain a brick of C4, I would drop it in the motor of my 2003 ram and blast it to its 72 virgins( Dodges are Muslim, the only Christian truck is Ford) anyways....I have had nothing but BAD luck with this motor, it has eaten 2 motors on its way to 3....I am a regular 3000 mile maintenance guy and run only top synthetics through...lower end of motor is junk. First time dodge owner, this has definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.....

Yes it has a single cross bar aluminum ramp that folds up. I will check into removing it next time, thanks for the input.

I picked up my 2008 intake today and will be ordering the throttle body adapter from AirRam soon.

Just make sure you strap the ramp down so it doesn't fly away! lol

Cool the new manifold is supposed to be a large improvement...

I am now on the fence. While i know that the 5.7 eats more i have had 2 dodge trucks and the engines have been 4.7l and i have not had an issue but i now have an 08 4.7l flex in and of it self not a bad thing but couple that with living in Calif. I have been researching here and with local shops i at this time have NO CAI options that are carb legal so i cant pass emissions with out having to repeatedly take the stock gear off and on. I enjoy wrenching as much as the next guy but some parts i just want to keep on my car and not have to take them on and off for inspection purposes. The hardest part is it appears that the 08 4.7 is the orphan here none of the 5.7s that i have seen in the 20xx realm have any of these limitations and the 2002 -2007 all seem to have something that is certified for Cali as well the 2009-2012 i think. To that end i'm contemplating trading in my 08 and getting a slightly newer model with a 5.7 since changing out the motor would be more annoying than its worth.

am open to suggestions or if any one knows a CAI that works and is Carb certified cause i'm not finding one.

ok sorry rant off.

^ In all honesty the 4.7L does not get much better mpg than the hemi with mds, it's very slightly better but not by much. I assume that's one of the reasons they are phasing out the 4.7L in the upcoming years and it won't be offered anymore. It is still a great engine though. Sucks that you are in cali and have all those issues. Here in FL you could run open manifolds and no one would look twice lol My goal is to get to 300 rwhp with my 4.7L qc, which is about rc hemi area, and I would like to run the same times. I have a feeling I'm going to fall just short of them, as I'm only doing fairly mild bolt ons, but either way it's not an all out vehicle for me, more of a fun daily driver to sink a couple bucks into

Default shoulda gotta hemi

I do like my truck minus fuel mileage and the mileage wouldnt bother me if my truck had some get up and go even after the bolt ons and chip it does good to out run a stock honda civic grandit my 305/65/17 tires with a 3.55 gear is not helping anything either I just never would have thought when I bought it that its so under powered but I do love the truck and im not getting rid of it until I can afford a brand new one and thats not anytime soon

Default 4.7 engine

I'm happy with mine for the most part. It gets good mpg in town (15-16) and i've gottin up to 22 on the hwy. It has enough power for what I pull around. I do think that dodge has put way to much torque managment into the program of the tranny. it's sluggish off the line then at 3000rpm it "opens up"

You would love the tuner. You can turn down TM, and even leaving it at stock like I have mine tuned now the power increase and better shift schedule makes a world of difference.
