Well, I can tell you this; I'm just knew to the forum and my new 2012 Sport 4x2 Quad Cab has less than 60 miles on it and between you and Brad are already driving me nuts with your mods.
Is there a period of time that I need to wait before I can do any of this performance improvement mods to my ride?
Also how much improvement you get in the gas mileage when you change the drop in filter, add the CAI and replace Mufflex since most of this parts are expensive how long would take for you to see the ROI.

If you are looking for a ROI with these mods you should not be doing them unless you plan on keeping the truck for 8+ years....

18 mpg and 10,000 miles per year = $1944 spent on gas at 3.50 a gallon
19 mpg and 10,000 miles per year = $1842 spent on gas at 3.50 a gallon

which is a savings of $819 and roughly about the cost of those mods and roughly what you expect to spend on the mods, so if you keep your truck for 8 years you can expect to break even

That's what I thought, I usually change my rides every 5 years though.

I got a 4 MPG highway improvement from the "Before Mods" stage with the addition of the intake, exhaust and programmer. So, do the math with a 3 MPG improvement. That's what I get around town.

Brad and I take no responsibility for what others spend on mods.

You can start in on the mods anytime you want. All you need to understand is that if you do a mod that fails, and causes damage to an OEM part, Dodge will neither warranty the aftermarket part nor the damage to the OEM part.

Having said that, there are a LOT of mods you can do that won't affect your warranty.

Well.....that only works IF you can control your right foot. After changing the intake, exhaust and doing the programmer thingy, my right foot has completely disconnected from the left (logical/rational) side of my brain, and is controlled unrestricted by the right (pleasure/fun) side of my brain.

End result - Gas mileage is something I don't get anymore, but the fun meter is permanently in the Red.

I don't go slow, either. If I am on the road, headed for a project, it's 4 - 79 all the way, up through some pretty hilly country. It's 260 miles one way to one of my projects. About 2/3rds of it is flatland, though.

Around town I'm not too aggressive but then again, I have the same problem Brad has. Ever seen a MegaCab drifting??? hehehehehe....

I pretty much move inside the Miami metropolitan area and pretty much respect the speed limits though.

Brad,

Congrats on pulling the trigger on your new mods!
I am definitely gong to do the same except I will be doing a Volant CAI and Corsa muffler.

Have you replaced the Xpipe or are you?

Please give some more info on the DSP 91 tune as well. What is it and where do you get it? I know it's a program but is it a hand heled you plug into the ECU? How much was it?

I love this forum! I am learning so much and still waiting for my Express to be built lol.
