Default Do the 2010/11 flip up towing mirrors fit the 2009 1500???

Hello guys!

First off, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and thank you all for the great ideas I already got about mods to my 2009 Dodge Ram HEMI Crew Cab Sport. Great forum!!! Thank you all!!!

Now to my question: I wanted to replace the stock sport mirrors with the chrome (ideally) flip up style towing mirrors of the 2010 and 2011 models. Anybody done this before? Do they fit or is it not possible at all??? If they fit, is it a "plug and play option" or does it require any form of modification(s)?

Any experiences and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Thank you folks!

Chris

They fit and are plug and play. I did this a couple months ago, swapped out my sport mirrors for tows (2011 to a 2010). The tow mirrors are GREAT.

Do they retain the power, heat and lamp functions?

Thank you for the reply!

Just to clarify, you swapped mirrors from a 2011 truck to a 2010 truck?

I am asking because I have a 2009 and am looking into the 2010 or 2011 mirrors.

I apologize for the confusion!

Thank you!

Yes, I was just saying that to show that they are interchangeable. Same with the 09s, you can swap with a 10 or 11. Don't know about the 12s yet though.

I would like to verify that this works as well - please let me know if it has worked for you once you've done it.

For some reason, the 2009 is the "bastard" year when researching these types of flip-up towing mirrors. All information states it'll work for the 02-08 1500 and 09 and newer 2500/3500, but what about the 09 1500!

I have a monkey wrench to throw into this too:

My SLT sport mirrors DO NOT have puddle and turn signal, but I'm interested in the Chrome Flip-Up tow mirrors that have puddle and signal; I mean, why not, right!? So, the question is, what does it take to add puddle and signal capability on my truck, since it is not on my current sport mirrors?

Thanks all,

Troy

I am under the impression that you can use the puddle lights when putting the towing mirrors on an 09 and some other issues. We need a tech to chime in

I'm not entire sure on that one. Might be a good question for the dealer.
