Default Throttle Body Spacer?

Im doing a k/n cai and wanted to know what you guys think of throttle body spacers? I was looking at the Poweraid tbs. They claim to improve mpg and HP a decent amount for the price. It says its made to work with the airaid cai and might not work with other intakes. Just wanted to see what you guys thought, thanks alot.

From what i have heard, the throttle body spacer just makes noise & makes a better paper weight on someones desk, than as a part on an vehicle

Not a half bad idea WHEN someone finally gets a programmer to work with our 2011's. Something about boosting up to 105-110mph and then the governor kicking in to shut me down on a boosted engine bothers me.

OP's in an '08, he can spray all he wants. This is the only throttlebody spacer I would ever recommend:
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...&product=4112#

Aside from that, you could send me the $100 and you'll get just as much performance in your engine.

That's because a throttlebody spacer was intended for use on non-efi engines where you want to increase the cyclonic movement of the air which results in more air/fuel mix time before it enters the cylinders. If you spin the air after the throttlebody, all you're doing is slowing it down fractionally. Look at how our intake runners are positioned, the air gets forces down to the bottom of the manifold, then up and around, through each runner, do you honestly thing that there's any change to the airflow characteristics by helically accelerating the air? If we had a ram-style or a single plane manifold, then absolutely, they'd have a use, but on our keg-style, they are a $100 way to make it sound like you have a small supercharger.

Haha everyone here always hates on these. I put one on my truck right before I put my cai on and noticed a small difference, and then of course a big one with my AEM cai. If you have the extra money then why not? If your kinda tight on cash then I would pass it up. I had the money and was told by my friends that work on cars that they would give a little more umph to the mid and low range power.
