^^ TB spacer is a paperweight for a NA setup regardless if its 3G or 4G. Just a small FYI in case you decide to get one for your 4G. Save your $$

The OP asked which were faster than 3rd gen Hemi Rams and I'm asssuming all stock trucks. RCSB 3G hemis ran high 14s on a good day stock and 4x4 CCs were like 16 flat (I had an 07). All those trucks I listed other than the X-Runner and Titan are capable of 14 second passes stock. So, they are faster. And my 02 Lightning was faster than my 12 R/T. I wouldn't be too scared of any of the rest.

I think I've mentioned it at least twice in this thread, but the little black gmc's are the fastest factory pickup trucks to date in the quarter mile (and I think 0 to 60). It's as simple of an answer as that. They were and are faster than the lightnings, RT's, ecoboosts, yada yada...

They ran as fast as 13.4 in the 1/4 and 5.0 0 to 60. Less than 8,000 produced. I'd LOVE to have one. They are awesome, and it's just a little cooler as I'm a closet GM fan...

What's the most amazing is that they were only rated at 280 hp and 350 lb ft. Pretty low numbers for what is the fastest truck ever produced. Supposedly the hp numbers are much higher than what was advertised though.

For everyone against the turbo v6 (like ecoboost), this truck was a mid 20 thousand dollar truck built in 1991 and 1992 with a turbo truck engine v6 and awd (via transfer case) that blew away the corvette, ferrari's, etc... I'm not trying to promote ford, I don't like ford, but turbo v6 is a powerful setup, often more powerful than a v8. The old saying "there's no replacement for displacement" needs to be modified to say "there's no replacement for displacement, except forced induction".

I totally agree with you man, I've just never seen one on the street. Seen a Typhoon at a show once but that's it. And while the trucks are fast and owning a clean, stock one would be sweet, I can't say they are the fastest. Many stock SRT10 regular cabs have been faster than 13.4 in the quarter. And my Lightning ran 13.8 stock, so it's not too far off. In fact, with the same traction as the AWD GMs, I'd say it would be just as fast. Finally, looking at the Syclone's trap speed (98mph, Wikipedia is where I saw that, not sure how reliable it is) it would probably get spanked from a roll.

And as far as the FI stuff, I also agree, but I still need 8 cylinders with my turbo, supercharger, whatever. Another reason I feel the Lightning is still the best factory sport truck ever.

My only issue with the lightnings is I've read that they are unreliable and when you start modifying them they blow up quick.

There's a really nice late model lightning in my neighborhood, it is definitely modified it has a very lopey idle and sounds great. I should go talk to the guy, it's a sweet truck.

4 out of 5 stars for the extended cab(the model that's horrible) and 5 out of 5 for the super crew from nhtsa actually isn't that bad. Now the extended cab test by iihs is horrible but both the regular cab and supercrew are both safer than the extended cab
