Default Finger print repair

I'm not sure where to put this so I'll start here.

I recently got some custom badges and to my dismay they have a few finger prints in the clear coat.

I know some of you guys have alot of experience with paint and I'm wondering how I should go about fixing these.

I'm guessing if I lightly sand the finger print and then re-spray with clear polyurethane they will disappear?

Someone please let me know how to proceed with this, I really don't want to screw these up after I waited so long to get them.

Send them back or request a portion of what you paid back to fix their mistake.

I also recommend sending them back. But if you are intent on fixing this yourself, this is how I would proceed. I claim no responsibility for any damages incurred.

Soak a sheet of 3000g wet/dry sand paper for 1hr.
Cover the end of a new white eraser with the wet sand paper.
Keeping the badge wet all times, lightly rub the affected areas until the finger prints are gone.
Make sure to very thoroughly clean the badge and finish with an paint prep cleaner.
Cover with a few light coats of clear, allowing the layers to tack up in between.
Allow to dry very well prior to applying on your truck.

Good Luck!

before you go painting yourself, you should find out if it's an acrylic lacquer or enamel. That might make a difference if you use the wrong one. Best bet would be to send it back.
