Default Towing capacity

I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn Package, P275/60R20 tires, 3.55 rear end, no limited slip, 5.7 Hemi, automatic, short bed ( 140.5 wheel base ), 4x4. According to Dodge's tow chart I can tow a 8,450 lbs. trailer. I have a dozer that weighs in at 8,500 lbs. plus the weight of the trailer. If I got to a goose neck trailer, does it increase towing capacity so I can tow my dozer? And if so, would you recommend it or not? I figure the trailer would weigh in at around 2500, making the whole trailer weigh in at around 11,000 lbs.

Rated towing capacity is rated towing capacity, no matter what type of trailer, bumper tow, fifth wheel or goose neck, you would still be over your towing limit, and if it's a goose neck it's probably the same as a fifth wheel, 20 to 25% of the combined trailer weight would be on the hitch which would put you over your payload limit for the truck itself, that sounds more like a trailer for a one ton or at the very least a 3/4 ton.

Don't do it. 1/2 tons aren't really built for goosenecks anyway
You cannot legally change the tow rating of your truck from what it is from the factory
Your truck could probably handle the weight if it came down to it but your taking alot of risks including the possibility of your insurance covering a clam if your trailer is attached during the incident

Ahhh no, the truck is not made to handle that kind of weight, especially the brakes.

I have a 2004 reg cab, long bed, hemi, lim slip, used reguarly to to tow my 7x14 dual axel trailer with my tools. approx 6000lbs. Years back I upgraded to ten ply tires. I regularly put over 2000lbs in the bed and on one occasion put 2600lbs of tile in the bed and went up the mountains with it. I have never bottomed the springs out. I have towed a mini- excavator with it with no problem. My 2011 2500 is a lot stiffer and rides a lot better when towing. Not telling what to do just what I have. I definitely would not pull or load the bed with any significant weight without upgrading tires.

I would NOT do it, the coil springs won't handle the load
A most shops that install 5th wheel hitches would send you down the road, they would be Liable

Default NO!!!!!!!

You can't exceed the max tow allowed, and yes deduct your body weight, and any other load. Goose neck won't make it any better. You can install air bags and rubber stop springs, but at the end of the day don't over load your axles

as I've stated before, if you can tow 10,200 then thats it. You should deduct passengers or other cargo, also look at GVCWR thats the combined weight of truck trailer and payload. (total scale weight turck stop) I tow a 7000 fifth wheel with a 1300 hitch weight. The truck don't sag with 10 lbs in airbags. The keep your truck lite place extra cargo in the camper and stay within your GVCWR. The only issue I would see is if you over load the axle with hitch weight. You don't deduct for gas.oil etc.

you might look at this website, it will give you an idea of what you MIGHT be able to tow
remember the 2010 were re-rated, so this chart may be LOW
slide the weight scale, then add how many people, including yourself, will be in the vehicle,
