Default Belt??

So would it be weird if the belt on my truck seems to have been stretched?? All of my pully's seems to be tight. No play in them. And then tensioner is tight as well, no play. Was just wondering if it is "common" for the belt to seem like it has been stretched.

How are you determining the belt may be stretched? Are you observing something specific or did you measure the belt in some way?

Well, it took a trip for the Christmas Holiday and checked everything before I left. On the way back, there was a bit of a squeal and I thought it may be like power sterring pump sounding.... I got out and looked and checked and the power steering pump was fine as well as the other pulleys. Today I felt a kind of shutter and looked under the hood and the belt is quite a bit loose. I played with the tensioner and it was tight and did not move. There is a faint squeak sound while the truck is running kinda like a belt would sound when "rubbing" but not turning a pulley. It just really surprised me to see hoe loose the belt was and not looking like anything else is loose....

stick a 3/8's ratchet in the tensioner and make sure it moves back and forth..that could be going out as well.. also check to see how much play the tensioner has in relation to belt..if the belt is worn it could be the tensioner is near the limit...

..just to make sure on everything else..pull the belt and spin all the pulleys to make sure you don't have a worn bearing in one of them, except the crank pulley...

my guess it's worn..pull it and look at the ribs..I bet you'll see cracking on them... I have an 05 and I think I've changed the belt twice already.

Yeah I bought the truck used from dealership and you can promise that they do everything they say "they do". The belt looks decent but it is prolly worn out. I have tried to hand rotate the pulleys and nothing out of the ordinary. I really think that the tensioner is shot. I am prolly gonna replace it and replace the belt as well. Thank you all for the input. If that isn't the problem, I will repost again and HEY, I replace the tensioner and the belt that would have needed it in the long run anyway
