Default Led underhood light

I've been trying to replace the light under the hood with an led bulb but I can't figure out how to. Anyone done this successfully? How do I access the bulb?

The whole fixture swings on a plastic hinge (which is bolted to the hood). You should find a latch on one of the long sides of the light that releases the fixture and allows it to swing down. Then you can wrestle with the hood liner a bit to get the fixture unplugged. That should allow you to free the lense (it comes straight off the black body). You'll need a looped festoon LED bulb if you're looking for a drop-in replacement. I think I did a write-up when I modified my '09 with an LED panel. I'll see if I can find the link for you in case you want to go with 9-12 SMD's rather than just 3-5.
