I have the same problem with my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500.. I have the dana 60 front end. However, I also have a Dodge Ram 3500 (same year, same front end) and this one doesn't jerk when in 4x4 and turning. I was about to get the u-joints replaced on the 2500. Is there a way to stop the wheel lock? the 2500 jerks even on icy and slippery conditions (mud, ice or snow). Any Suggestions?

No worries Mgrasber. Thats how 4x4 works, the outside tire travels farther in a turn than the inside one. The feeeling is the tires trying to catch up to each other. Also the universals (or CV joints) will bind in a sharp turn. You don't see that in a front wheel drive car because only one wheel or the other will spin, allowing the other run freely through the turn. Just something to get usede to...
