I am almost willing to bet, that you could take an '09/'10 complete rear axle assembly tires lug nuts & all, & switch it with an ZF '11/'12 rear axle assembly

It would just be 40 pounds heavier

BY the way, all those rear axles that were recalled, were ZF made
cheap bearing made in China
front lube port to low
casing design. has no cavity for the oil to get to the cheap bearing

quick fix, over fill the oil
2nd quick fix, put a fill/inspection port back in the rear differential cover, like they were forever

Thats the only other option is to do a complete axle swap, but its 1500-3000 bucks depending on where you get the axle. This is costing 200 bucks...

Btw i know the issues with the axle, its not really a big deal. Feel free to quit talking shit about the assembly. Its pointless and you got your pointless point across in your first post. I dont really know where you're trying to go with those remarks, but I'd appreciate helpful replies like the first half of your third post not this childish crap

Also if anyone is interested in doing gears, I will see if they can jus modify a carrier for some that would like them. Maybe they will let me bring in an oem carrier and they can modify them to accept aftmarket gears and then mail them out. Then you could get gears of your choice installed as well....

So as of now besides doing what your doing Candy...theirs no option of doing gears/LSD in the 2011's?

I have the 3.55's in mine and would like to upgrade when I go to 35s down the road am I just stuck with the 3.55s?

Maybe I'm getting confused on some of this, but on your question of having no option to your 3:55's on your '11, my understanding is that you can use at least the 3:92 for the '11-'12 models in your '11 carrier.

^ exactly. You can go up to 4.10s. You just have to use OEM gears and they are a pretty penny! Even if you're 4x4 you can do the oem 4.10s in the rear and throw aftermarket 4.10s up front.

Do anyone know what type of Limited Slip Differential is used in the ZF axle? Who makes it China, Eaton or is it ZF's own design?

It recently snowed here so I've had a chance to try it out. So far
it has worked well even when one tire on snow or ice and the other
on dry pavement both tires spin.
