It may not hurt to get them to check and give you some paperwork about it, in case in the future something happens after warranty is done you have proof it was a problem while under warranty.

That is what I have been doing. And so Dodge can see they may have a problem. When I tell my dealer the 4wd srv light is on they rush me in go get it checked, kinda nice but also worrisome in a way.

Just had the same thing happen with the service 4WD light on icy roads. Shut it off and all clear. Will run it up to the dealer tomorrow just to document it........since I was actually on my way home from the dealer for some other minor issue. LOL

My wife saw the Service 4WD light come on while driving in snowing conditions with the 4WD engaged. Just normal highway driving in snow... it went away by the time she got home.

2 days later, I got in the truck and started it, in the driveway, in 2WD and the light came on. I shut the truck off, turned it back on, and no light.

So, we will be bringing THAT to the dealers attention when we go back for our 3rd visit in 3 months

When I took mine in for the rear differential insp, where they added the 19 oz of fluid. I told the service manager about the Service 4WD light, he said this why they are doing this insp. I did not know what to think about that comment. Has anyone gone in for the rear differential insp and still have the light come on? Excuse my ignorance, but are these problem items related? I have not had an issue with the light again.

I love this forum... I had the exact same thing happen to me today. Pulled up to a stop sign, made the stop and started to accelerate. Traction control kicked in and blinked at me a few times - 15 seconds later - the SERV 4WD light kicked on. Stayed on until I turned off the truck, started it back up and all was fine.

This thread is a bit older - anyone have any success with diagnosing this issue or is it just a software glitch?

I have not had any problems again since I took mine in for the recall last year.
