I found the new cluster and steering wheel with controls in a wrecking yard with mileage really close to mine. I followed the wiring instructions found on another thread on this forum (no link offhand), and had the dealership add some sales codes to my truck, and it all works. The cluster and basic EVIC display will work even before the steering wheel controls are wired or the sales codes are added, but to control the EVIC functions and move through the screens you will need them done.

The only thing I would caution is to be sure and get a cluster from a truck that is the same year as yours. I got a cluster out of an 09, and the ERS (manual shifting) will not work. There must be some minor changes year to year.

Here's the thread I mentioned, most of the info is in the later pages.

I have seen a few clusters on ebay, along with a few steering wheels with controls. I would imagine that some of the bigger towns in TX would have wrecking yards with a decent selection of Rams if you do much traveling.
