Default Do I have a lift? and will they fit?

I have done a search on here but after reading some posts it appears my truck is either rare or not stock. I just bought a 2001 Ram Sport RCSB 5.2l with a 5 speed. The tailgate does have the Off Road and 4x4 stickers on the tailgate but nowhere else. So with that said I am looking to get new tires and really like the look of it now but am unsure if I should stick with 35x12.5x17 like it has now or go a little shorter. Thereis a little rubbing on the inside rear plastic of the fenders but nothing major and am affraid once I get the new ones the rubbing will be much worse. Any suggestions or ideas?

there is a wheel/tire gauge tool available that lets you check for clearance and helps you pick the right offset for the wheels.
I have changed to wheels with different offsets before to gain clearance.
Just know that changing offset will also change load on bearings and axles.

The tires on it now are 35x12.5x17 but are pretty worn and dont want to spend the money on new ones if they are not going to fit properly or if I am going to have to modify the front bumper for them to fit. Actually im looking at 315/70/17 retreads from treadwright and the diameter I beleive is like 34.7.

That truck definitely looks lifted. I'm running 315's on my stock 95' and they rub on my bumper only when I turn my wheels all the way. If your running 35"s now, you should have no problems with 315's.

Looks like the tires rubbed enough in the front to bend down the front bumper like that. And if they rub a little with bald tires, if you get the same size with full tread its definitely going to rub a lot more. So if you dont want to modify your truck any more your going to need to run a little bit smaller tires.

Good looking truck BTW, I like the color combo and those headlights are sweet

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport Off-Road Edition and my truck sat just like that with 35" tires with no lift at all. I would say that there is no lift on your truck. And I would recommend a 2.5" coil spacer for the front which will fix your rubbing problem. You can find them anywhere, just bought mine from eBay for about $65. Stay with the 35's definitely!

If it says 4x4 Offroad on the tail gate then it has a special package on it. Which Includes a 2 inch body lift and 4:10 gears from the factory it probably also has positraction in the rear differential.

What the tailgate is not stone run your vin and find out for sure. Dosen't take much to throw a different tailgate on a truck. Either contact Dodge dealer or try this it helps some but the stuff you are asking a dealer will be able to tell you.

It's not a body lift, It gets the extra 2 inch lift from stiffer coil springs and leaf springs.
