Default bumper question

Is the upper trim on the bumper interchangeable between the 02-05 and the 06-09 styles? I'm asking because I want to put an 06 trim on an 03 bumper. Then fabbed brackets and seating this on my second Gen. Something different.

I don't believe so. If you look at the headlights on the front of an 02-05, they curve downward below the bulbs and the bumper follows those lines. Not the case with the 06-09 rigs. Their headlights are straight across. ALSO, the grill on the 06-09's dips into the bumper whereas the 02-05's don't... So, no, I do not believe an 06-09 bumper trim is interchangeable with an 02-05 and vice versa...

the dip is what im planning on from the 06-09 trim. the 99-01 sport grill has a bit of a dip so hat should fill it out a little. im not concerned with the 02-05 grooves by the headlights vs the 06-09s flat section. the flat part on those is actually what im counting on for my second gens flat bottom headlights. between the 02-05 and 06-09, the metal part of the bumper is identical. the trim is all that dodge changed, so in my head i dont see why it wouldnt work................

...... in theory...

Ah, OK. I get what you're saying... I was trying to picture the end result in my head last night, but I was tired and not thinking clearly... In theory, it MIGHT work... You might need to do a little modification here and there to make it look right... Would be interesting to see done.
