Default 2003 ram 2500 5.7 superchips programmer

im buying a 2003 ram 2500 laramie with the 5.7 hemi and was looking at getting a superchips programmer for it. the thing im having a hard time figuring out is what the shift firmness does for the transmission. does it make the torque converter lock up quicker and not let it slip as much? this is the main reason im looking at getting a programmer. im a newbie to the 3rd gen rams and id like to learn more about the rear diff in this truck. will it lock the rear tires together if one loses traction?

It is supposed to reduce some of the torque management (drops engine power for a split second) that is programmed in when the trans shifts. I didn't feel any difference when I had mine programmed until I pull the TM wire. With a 2003 you will not get any trans tuning with the Superchips. Also you can raise your rev limiter, but it will not shift at the RPM at WOT. You will have to shift it manually if you want the engine to go all the way to max RPM.
