Default MOD #2 LED Cargo lights

Another simple mod. LED Cargo's. Already did back up lights and changed them again to a CREE lamp so I put the LED in the cargo's.
Tools: Philips screw driver and LED's

Time 5 minutes if that (including pictures)
Undo to the two philips remove housing and old bulb

Insert new LED my are 68 SMD LED's

Put housing back and tighten screws and done. Wish I had a LED for third Brake light but will order that when I do brakes and inside.

Nice! The LED light color is a lot cleaner looking.

I have an 03 and ordered leds for my third brake and cargo lights but when i put in my cargo lights they lit up immediately even with the truck off. Did you run into the same issue with yours?

No I did not. Have had no issues at all with my LED's. Are they at full brightness right away? You may need a resistor inline with yours.

Im not sure if they were at full brightness, i believe so though in comparison to the brake light bulb anyway they seemed about the same. I was really hoping to not have to put a resistor in since that would require cutting into the wiring. The bulbs i bought are different than yours as well kind of a long shot but maybe the difference in design or amount of leds could have something to do with it?

Not sure mine were originaly in my back up lights but put them in Cargos after. They are a 921 lamp it says 912 for the cargos but they are interchangeable. I don't know about makes or qualities of bulbs but it could make a difference I guess. Check out LED and look for SS4Luck he knows a lot about LED's and has done some great threads about them.
