The only reason the computer came to my head it because my dad installed a torque converter into his 2001 35th anniversary 5.7L Camaro. He had similar problems with the check engine light. not to sure if it was the TCC or not. When he sent his computer to be programmed he mentioned to the Tech to remove the diagnostics code, and also to add a bit of pressure to the trans to make it shift into the last gear. Apparently that did the trick. worked fine after that. But then again he never was on the highway. Much less on the road. It was almost 10 years old with 5,500 miles on it. Never saw rain. Never slept outside. Ran a 11.988 in the 1/4 mile in Edingburg.

You have a very nice looking truck! My good buddy also has a z28 (I think 01) and it runs a best of 12.9. Will run 13.0 consistently. He has a superchips tune, longtube headers and full exhaust, intake with ram air, and a couple other minor mods.

Yesterday on my way home I hit cruise control at 65 mph. I believe the TCC engaged due to the fact that my Rpm's dropped (while in cruise control) to 1600 rpm. What was odd though was the fact that the needle was bouncing back and forth between 1600-1700 rpm. I thought the problem was fixed! But as soon as I made a turn and went back to 65 mph it didn't engage. Neither did it this morning

Not necessarily that. But the computer having to be reprogrammed to the new converter?
