Sorry that I am just seeing this post, I've been out of town for work and just plain tied up. Ok, so lets see if I can help:
1) The update can't be done from a disc, the radio doesn't support an update to the Uconnect module.
2) Your truck is a 2011, what radio do you have? see the lower right hand corner fo the radio faceplate, there will be a 3 digit code. When you performed the update did you listen to the beeps all the way thru? Did you interrupt the flow at all and was the battery fully charged?
3) Have you tried to reboot the system by disconnecting the battery for about 5 - 10 minutes then hooking it back up?
4) There is nothing in the update flash that could harm the system. I have only seen an issue where the flow has been interrupted.
Let's start here and see where it gets us, ok.

The radio works other than this (I can use satellite radio, cd's, and the hard drive). Without the use of those buttons, and the usb in the glove box, I am unable to update uconnect.

I ran the uconnect.upd update on this forum, and now my uconnect voice recognition has quit. I can still read USB flash drives in the port in my glovebox and my bluetooth still recognizes by Blackberry phone.

I've tried disconnecting the battery cable for 5 minutes, but still no change.
I have the 130 S/RES radio.

Any ideas if there is another uconnect.upd file out there specifically for the 130 S/RES head unit?

Thanks,

Darin

Default question on ipod iphone

all this upgrade info is sweet, however, what if BOTH USB ports do not come up on the screen? Meaning they are "gray'd out" and I can not select it at all?
will this download work?
I have a 2011 1500 Larime. Will have to get back on the radio, wife has truck at work. Has everything on radio.

I uploaded the wrong uconnect.upd file on my first try, and it shut down my USB port. However, turning off the ignition and turning it back on allowed me to reflash the radio with the glove box USB port.

Can you explain this to me? What update file did you use? The link should have only led you to one file. The USB in the glove box is the one that this update needs to be performed with.

What radio do you have in the truck?

I found another uconnect.upd file on one of the jeep sites which stated it should work for the 130 radio. All that file managed to do was break my usb port. The link on this thread only led me to a single update file.

Thanks for the explanation Darin. You did get this one to work correctly for you though, right.

Nope, the uconnect file on this thread broke my Voice Recognition on the radio. I cannot give the system any voice commands. I have done the update several times, watching the radio complete the entire update without any errors. Also, pulled the battery cable off for a few mins to force a reset. Still no voice recognition.
