Question Question on oil 5-20 or 5-30

I bought 7qts of mobile 1 5-30 for my first oil change, then i saw it takes 5-20.
will this be Ok for one time?

semperfi,
I believe you need to use the exact weight oil Dodge specifies on these engines.
I read that this was because of the MDS system possibly not working exactly right with lighter/ heavier oils.
IIRC, there is even a Chrysler TSB on the issue.

Lots of opinions on this, but there's probably some substance to this issue of MDS operation with oil viscosity. I'd stick with the recommended weight. That 5W-30 is a common weight for most other vehicles. Do you have another vehicle that could use it?

if it matters to you i have been using penzoil ultra 5-20 and do not have the hemi tick. others have posted the same with valvoline syn 5-20.

I put 5w20 Mobil1 Synthetic in my 300C 5.7 Hemi for the past 4 years and never got any problem with it. I was also using Mobil1 oil filter after I heard that the Fram oil filter are crap.
