Interesting topic. I have the 32gal tank in my truck and I've never noticed a sloshing before. I have noticed that after fill up the gas gauge will quickly move from full to 3/4 and then sit there for awhile and then start moving as usual. Weird.

Boys I think you may have solved the case of a Ghost rear ending me at 1500kms (937 Miles for everyone south)... Albeit maybe I am overly sensitive to the feeling but there has got to be a way to stop that from happening.

It makes sense that what I am feeling is caused by the fuel shifting in the tank since it doesn't happen when I am on an incline coming to a stop.

Anyways I am just over a 1/2 tank today (so what is that 16, 17 Gallons LOL) and it seems to be getting worse. With a full tank I didn't feel it and thought the problem was solved!

C'mon Dodge, step up to the plate and give us some BETTER fuel tanks!!!

Cheers,

Loth

Default baffle issue

For me, 2011 Ram Laramie, it feels like someone hits me when I stop. Below 1/2 tank and above 3/4 tank its not bad. Otherwise I hate it. I thought at first it was an engine timiming issue. What I know now, I would have opted for the smaller 26 gal tank. I have a buddy with a 36 gank on his 2500 and he says he doesnt have the issue

OK, i have thought about it & i believe that i was incorrect, it can't be the gas level & sloshing

Fuel does NOT surge forward only ONE time & we only feel one bump

that will leave the brakes or transmission as the culprit
the crazy thing is, it seems to happen noticeably with the large gas tanks ??

Some members have said that they have turned off the HILL START ASSIST function in the EVIC & this strange bumping feel has gone away.
I have not tried it myself, so i won't comment on it

I must have the tunes cranked all the time or something. Had my RAM for several months now, hasn't bothered me one bit. Yes I have the large tank.

Every once in a while I notice the sloshing in my 32 gal tank. However, the truck rides so smooth and quiet any slight thing like fuel sloshing might become noticeable.

On the annoyance level, the fuel tank doesn't even come close to the aggravation I have with the voice recognition on the UConnect system.

I have the 32 gal tank, and if I was to do it all over again, I would still opt fot the 32 gallon tank again. It's a subtle thump and not that big of a deal. The worst part about it was not knowing what that occasional thump was, and being concerned that it was a more serious mechanical issue. After learning what it was and that I can predict exactly when it is most likely to accur has made it a non issue for me.
