Just installed the same set up and have a terrible drone between 1800 and 2000 RPM. I wonder if it has something to do with how the pipes are routed. He routed the driver side over the cross member and across the back of the transmission instead of across the pan in front of the cross member.

I went back to the muffler shop and had them reroute the pipe from the driver side. Still have the drone but it’s not as loud and no longer vibrates under my feet. I made an appointment to have under coat and rust proofing tomorrow. I’m hoping to bring the noise level down just a little more at cruising speeds.

I can say without a doubt that adding the Vararam CAI, magnaflow 16869 cat back, 10778 y connection increased my MPG. Before 12/17 – After 15/21.

He never mentioned ANY problems.

I asked him how the install went when I went to pick it up and his exact reply was.... 'Not a problem.... everything went together nicely.... it's a top notch system.... typical Magnaflow.... I just spent a little more time lining the tips up because I know you like them sitting almost flush with you rear bumper..... apart from that, it was great'

Sorry I couldn't help.

This suprises me.

Apart from the CAI, and my Y-pipe being mounted a slightly differently then yours, we have a near identical setup.

I have absolutely no drone.... nothing!

That's very impressive.

I just turned over 2K and I'm hovering around 16.7 MPG in the city and just got back this evening from a 300mile round trip that was 95-percent interstate. My MPG - following the trip - now reads 23.8 as it sits.

I'm more than happy.

PS: I always run either Shell or Exxon 89-grade.

I'm a recent Flowmaster to Magnaflow convert as well and I only have a SI/SO muffler swap with SS tip. I love the way it sounds and I too have noticed that the truck seems to have a little more low end oomph. My EVIC is also showing a slight increase in MPG as well but I'm watching that to see if it is just a fluke or an actual gain.

Default Catback tips

Grubrunner,

How did you get the tips tucked back under the bumper?
