Default eletrical issues need help

Ok well first off let me tell you guys what has been done so far,, first off i had my friend install a cd player my truck, old radio startef acting up, when he hooked it up, he connected all the wires except the orange wire, coming from the truck, now that wire isnt touching anything metal to short out or anything, and i have no dash lights, (now i was told that th orange wire if not connected wont turn the dash light$, or cig lightet on? ), also i dont tjink the cd player is at fault but, my the mec in the stearing wheel that controls the blinkers, horn, snd marker lights? Went out three days ago, and now i didnt have my rear market light for night driving, headlights work fine. So i went down had buddy hard wire the rear marker lights, so when u turn the key to the on position the lighways come on, the truck ran fine for an hour or two, night came by and e everything went south. The truck lost all power has nothing to it, thought it was the altanatoe went down tested it, works fine, was told by the guy ay the countet it wad the voltage regulator, so we got a new voltage regulator put it in the truck, still the truck is not getting any power, the batter was only a couple years old, bought in 2010.

I know its alot to read but thanks for any and all hrlp on advance.
