Is this similar to what your Haynes manual shows? This is obviously from a Jeep but I think it's supposed to be in the same location.

That's not where the pcv valve is on my 07 4.7L Ram or what it looks like. The picture posted is the part I got when I went to a local shop to get one, but for my truck that wasn't the right part. I had to go to a Dodge dealer to get the right valve. On my truck the pcv valve is located on the driver side around the back of the intake manifold. It's threaded on one end and the hose goes over the other.

Well I'll be damned. Everything I have ever read says the valve was where that illustration shows. I had never looked for mine in the short amount of time I have had my truck because I had the dealer change it at the last service. But I looked yesterday and it sure isn't there. I'll have to look next chance I get but I'm sure you are right Kelr31.

Just did mine yesterday, got it for under five bucks and installed it in 10 seconds...it was pretty oily looking, put it where the photo on page one says.

I had a 2001 Ford F150 a few years ago. It was a 1/2 year model, so some time through the year of production they changed a few things. One being the fuel filter type and location.

Maybe this is the case with the Dodge Ram and the PCV?

I am having this same issue and I assure you, sir, it is NOT on the oil filler tube. Kelr31, I wish you could provide a picture I have searched for one for hours online. I really hate to pay a shop to change something so simple. I do realize that this thread is 8 months old and that no one will probably respond. oh well.

There have been a few different locations on the 4.7L's over the years. From what I know...on pre 2008 4.7L's the pcv valve is USUALLY on the oil filler neck. I believe some years had them on the valve covers. On 2008 and newer 4.7L's the pcv valve is on the rear of the driver's side valve cover on all engines (as far as I know).

I'm a little late to the party but I have been trying to figure this one out for quite a while. My 2007 Ram is a 4.7L FLEXFUEL. Finally found out that yes, for this model the PCV valve is on the drivers side valve cover at the very back near the firewall. It does not look anything like the traditional PCV valves. It is about 4 inches long and BOLTS into the valve cover. The hose still slips off the top of the valve easily though. It is not easy to get to but if you remove the air filter down to the throttle body, you can reach it with with some difficulty. I used a 34 mm deep socket. I had to use a 3/8" drive wrench with an adapter for 1/2" drive due to the limited space. The Dodge dealer part number is: 53032925AC and cost $20.25 at my local dealer. Hope this helps. On most other models, the PCV is located on the oil filler tube.
