Default Cat 2.5 OUT/ tad bit smaller IN.

I finally purchased a Magnaflow high flow cat to go with my flowmaster 44.
The piping is 2.5 IN/OUT, same with the muffler. But i noticed the IN on the stock cat seems a little bit smaller then the OUT. the same size as the IN/OUT on the muffler. Does this matter? I'm sure my muffler shop can make it fit.
