Default Oh Lordy, STOP ME>>>>PLEASE!

Hi gang, I got kinda lost there for awhile...BUT "I'M BACK"......Hey seriously though I have a problem that is serious and I need an intelligent, top shelf kinda answer. Since I bought my 93 Ramcharger a couple of yrs. back, I've gone through quite alot of mechanical improvements. One was going completely through the brake system. Changed rotors, brakes (shoes & pads) also the wheel cylinders, all hardware, power brake unit and master cylinder and also flushed system and refilled. Recently I did change tires from B.F. Goodrich to 35x15 Dick Cepec Radials. These tires are the best I've ever had on any of my Dodge trucks by far. Although the Dunlaps I have on my 1 ton Power Ram are pretty close to equals for longevity (the last set still had tread at near 50K miles when I changed them out for another set of the same) The reason I'm tell you people this is, I want you to get an all around understanding on the subject of iffy braking. These new tires look and are Beefy. All and all the brakes work But after driving my 1 ton Power Ram with its massive disc brakes ( dana 60's front and rear) they just seem weak under panic stops or high speed braking. Now getting bigger rotors didn't seem like that big a deal.....yah know, theres lots of Dodge 4x4 trucks out there....bigger than my Ramcharger....even Jeeps.....somethings got to be better in a 1/2 ton that would bolt right up......RIGHT? Theres even after market brakes manufactures making stuff from scrap. Well, so far the answer is a big fat NO! Now if I want to use a donor truck.....Like my 1 ton, I could just change everything over to a 3/4 or a 1 ton. Well I'd rather not go to that extreme.......Do I? I mean we're talking mucho labor and bucks here......Compared to just getting bigger rotors and updating calipers........OK, there yah go....... HELP!!!! I'll be waiting over here in the corner making blubbering noises.....I got confidence in you folks out there not to mention I just don't know what to do or where to go......so go for it and Thanks for all you got to give.....Allen....

Default Dick Cepec tires

About the mileage you can expect is in the neighborhood of between 45 & 50 thousand miles. This info. came from the guys at Central Coast 4x4 in Santa Cruz Ca. 831-475-8825. I almost bought a set of B.F. Goodrich as the size I was looking for, 35x15 were limited at best. I would have loved to find a set of Dunlaps but they (Dunlap) didn't have that size available. Of course there was the choice of changing the wheel size but when I bought my Ramcharger it came with a set of Centerlines......and their really sweet so doing more research I found that the Dick Cepec cost only $50 a tire. (a total of $1200 out the door) At that price, and their info. on what I could expect for the life expectancy, it was a no brainer. Allen....

I'm new at this posting and threads business so my answer came up on my site......But if you don't want to look there-Here Gos....my friends on the central coast in Santa Cruz Calf. actually their name is Central Coast 4x4 831-475-8825 informed me that the Dick Cepec's got the same mileage as my Dunlaps I have on my other Dodge, a 1 ton 4x4 Power Ram. What I got with the first set was about 50 thousand miles. I almost bought a set of B.F. Goodrich tires because the B.F.'s on my Ramcharger were shot. They would have cost me 1 thousand bucks for a set.......The Dick Cepecs were $50 bucks more each.......They are sweet....Look cool and handle great with very little road noise with a lightly aggressive tread pattern. I love the look of the side walls sorta like the tread continues over the side walls.....If you look close yah notice the letters D C are in the side wall design of the continued tread pattern........They just look COOL!.....Allen.
