Default 4.7L Magnum engine BBK Throttle body

Does anyone know if the BBK throttle body thats listed as being for the 1999-2003 4.7L engine will fit on the 4.7L in the 2004 rams? My understanding was that the '02-'07 4.7L engines were all the same, but there was no 4.7L engine in dodges prior to 2002 but somehow BBK advertises the TB for the 4.7L from 1999-2003. I only ask because i want to put a TB on my 4.7L but i don't want to order one only to have it show up and not fit. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I don't think the 4.7L debuted until 2002. I'm not 100% positive though. I'd maybe contact airram and ask the guy there, he seems to know everything about the 4.7L's.

The 1999-2002 4.7L engines had the JTec PCMs... which used a small Idle Air Control (IAC) mounted to the throttle body. The 2003-2007 4.7L throttle bodies came with the NGC PCMs and a Larger IAC mounted to the throttle body.

So you need to know which PCM you have...

If you have a J-Tec then the 70MM BBK throttle body will work with your application.

If you have an NGC throttle body then it will not.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

I am looking to do the same modification, with a cold air intake. Is there a way tell the difference between NGC and Jtec Pcms? With out tearing the truck apart.

It sounds like you could identify which one you have by looking at the IAC on the TB.
