Just wondering how much coolant I will loose & what to set my fan temps too after the install...I took the clutch fan off already...

I just did this on my 4.7L. It may not be identical to yours, but should be similar. I lost roughly 2 gallons total. I currently have my fan set to 197, may change that, but only time will tell...

hemi or 4.7? the hemi won't lose that much because the tstat sits higher than a 4.7... I swap between my 170 and 180 on race days and lose less than a gallon (when I pull hose i face it upwards to minimize loss)

Well. The job is done. Anything to know or watch for while driving the first bit afterwards? I lost quite a bit of coolant. I added 1.75 liters of coolant amd 1.75 liters of water.

I had air trapped in my cooling system right after, the temp kept "spiking" fairly high (higher than with stock tstat). After a few cycles of letting it heat up and cool down I was able to top off the coolant and kept doing this for a couple days. Now it's perfect, the temp hangs around 190-195

Yeah I must of too...I went for a couple 10km drives...Temp was up into the 230F range...So I stopped, added some more a few times...Ended up using 3.75L of antifreeze and 2.25L of water....Now I am running 185-190F...Overflow tank is a bit high tho.....So I lost a bit more than I suspected...Actually quite a bit more...Not the best at estimating lol

Wow that's very very close to TOO HOT! Be careful getting it that hot.

Mine was getting to like 215. Mine took an additional ~1/4 gallon the next day. And maybe a half a cup the day after(almost nothing).

I want to do a 180* tstat swap too. What brand of tstat do you guys recommend?? Also want to flush out the whole cooling system but haven't done this. How do I flush out the system & what do I do with the old coolant??

I used the JET-10183 (180*)
It seems to have a good reputation online among users.

you want to try find a tstat that has the blocker...it helps the engine warm up faster, some of the 180's out there can throw a p0128? (too cold) code. I use the autozone 4128
