Default Track bar replacement tips?

Hi all, I have excessive movement in my track bar. (96 ram 1500 4x4 5.2liter)

I have the replacement track bar and now just want any tips for the install...Is it a pretty easy swap out or is there a lot more to it?

Any help is appreciated!

Robb

Return your new track rod and order a lukes link from the web. Less costly and rebuildable, if you plan to keep your truck for awhile, it'll pay for itself over and over again. A spreader fork and a 32 ounce hammer are required to remove the old track rod, do not beat on the part where the nut and cotter pin are located. bad move. Dont become discouraged, they will separate, a torch helps . the passenger side end is easy, merely unscrew the bolt, the nut has a handle on it, needs no wrench, if you have an impact, a rechareable one will do, in all likelihood.

I've done mine twice now. Had a hard time the first one the second one was a breeze. I left mine on the ground. Remove the cotter pin losses the nut almost all the way off( this nut I speak of is on your driver side FYI ) I used a brake tool like a punch and waked it twice with my 4 lbs mini sledge and it popped right out. Then remove the passenger side nut an bolt. The first time I did it I had to turn the wheel to lign up the new trac bar and now my steering wheel is about 90• out. I put the passenger side in first then used a bottle jack to push the driver side into place. My need to slightly jack the driver side frame up a hair. Hope this helps.

Damn I type to slow. The screamintrashcan beat me.
My first trac bar I put in only lasted me about 15,000 miles but I trashed it off road a few times and got the cheapest bar from NAPA that only came with like a 6 month warranty. I also replaced my steering stabilizer both times. Got the rancho second time around and I love it tightened up my steering a lot hardly and play now.

Changed it out, pretty straight forward. PB blaster is your friend here!!!
Lossened balljoint end and broke it loose using a large punch and 5lb sledge. Once she broke loose, I turned over to the pass side and unbolted that. Removed old unit, put pass side in pocket without the bolt then jacked up drivers side it helped a little but not a great deal. I started the ball joint end into the bracket and had to use a little pursuasion to get it seated. Tightened everything up and def could tell a difference.
THanks for the help guys!!
