5280RAM; Sorry for thread jacking, let us know what you decide and how it turns out

I don't mind...I'm just trying to soak up all the info since I'm new to all this lifting and truck stuff

I will prob just level it out with Bilsteins since there isn't to many 4" lifts available for the 12's yet and it not quite in the budget right now

Depends on manufacturer of lift and backspacing on your current stock wheels. You can simply download the instructions that come with the lift you are looking at from the manufacturers website, or call them up and ask. If you have 17 or 18 inch wheels some of the lifts we have installed call for maximum backspacing of 4.5 inches on 17. I believe the Rancho is best case and you can use 17 inch steel rims, and Zone is worst case. Calls for 4.5 inch max backspacing on 17 inch rims so you can't use factory 17 steel wheels. Not sure the backspacing on all the 18 and 20 rims from Dodge you would have to measure yours and verify what they are.

Yea, I try to be a realist and if you aren't willing to spend 3 grand on lift w/install, new tire/wheels then probably best to level and upgrade rubber a bit little taller more aggressive and call it a day. Helps to be able to do everything yourself, but average folks don't have all the tooling required to install a full suspension lift in their garage. Let's see some pics when your done.

You didn't do nothing in the rear? did you have to run wheel spacers on the front?

Do you have any vibrations or wobble with them set at 2.8? I'm going with the same setup on a 2010 crew cab
