Default 4x4 Vacuum line has no Port?!?!?! Please Help!

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums, so bear with me, and sorry in advance if I violate any regs, I'm not trying to!

I have a 98 1500 4x4 with the 5.2 (Vin code "Y"). I just had the engine assembly replaced. The "mechanic" stuck one of the vacuum lines going to the 4wd to the backside of a firewall body bolt (go figure, right?). So, now, my 4wd doesn't work. I checked, and the lines to the vacuum shift motor are in place, haven't been touched. But, one of the lines from the trans case area (where the shift motor lines are routed through) is attached to one of the tees, and the other, as I described above, is just "hanging out"! Does anyone know where this should go? All the vacuum ports that I can find are occupied!

Although no one has responded, I still appreciate the 33 views. At least someone is looking in to it for me, no doubt. Either way, I have solved the problem. After searching over the engine for over 3 more hours, I still could not locate any open vacuum ports. This led me to the conclusion that the "mechanics" I hired most likely broke a tee, and rather than own up to it and buy a $2 part, they just rigged it together. So, I went to the local parts store, bought a three-way, and rigged it to the climate control vacuum. I think this should work. At least 4wd is working on demand!

If anyone else sees this thread and needs any help, feel free to PM me or post to this thread, I will respond with whatever knowledge I have gained!
