Default Need good air bags for suspension

Although I really don't need them that badly, I am looking into a set of airbags for my new 1500 Big Horn. I know that they have them that come with or without an air compressor. I pull a 6K pound boat, and after doing a search on this forum, I see that a lot of the feedback suggests that you really don't need them for that weight, but I do get some squat and was considering this option. I'm not absolutely convinced at this point, but would like to hear from any of you who might have installed them.

Do any of you have them, if so, what brand did you use...and what are the advantages of going with or without the onboard compressor? I guess you could use the compressor to air up tires in a pinch? I have had a complete set of two really high quality air horn trumpets sitting in a box in the attic for 5 years....bought them from a guy at a garage sale....I guess the compressor could also provide air for those?

I put in a set of the AirLift bags...the ones that go inside the coils....they work great for the little added support

JC: Did they have their own compressor, or are they the sort you air up with an external air compressor to a designated psi??

they have a kit with one, but as often as I haul stuff I didn't need that big of a kit...being military I only have to move when they tell me to lol....i caught the kit on sale, was only like 100 bucks

i had a set on my previous diesels and also have a set on one of our other trucks. We go with the air lift 5000 with the on board compressor. Reason we went with on board compressor is because its nice to adjust it as you go down the road for example you are on a really smooth road let a little out bumpy road add more etc etc.We pull everyday all day though and its just nice for us to have you might not need it though if ya dont tow alot. Main difference is the ability to select your ride as your driving if you dont have the onboard compressor if ya air em up a little to much or to less you gotta stop,get out, and then change it. Hello, about air bags, since you live in California you could go with the firestone bags that install inside the coil and would work great I would think, I looked at that option, but because I live in wisconsin I could not use them because they are only rated to if I remember right 15 degrees above 0. I spoke with firestone and they told me that they may crack in the winters of wisconsin.. Not what I wanted to hear! So it led me to a company in cali.. called Total Load control suspensions. Check them out, http://www.totalloadcontrolsuspensions.com/ they were great to work with, and I just felt like it is a much more fail safe system. Hope this helps.. Bryan
