Soon as you run a programmer, you void the powertrain warranty. This is the portion of the deletes that actually voids your warranty, the programmer. Removing the programmer will not help if you need to use the warranty because they all leave a digital fingerprint on the ecm even after being removed. If you're going to use a programmer, do the deletes. Unless you can find a delete friendly dealership as some have already mentioned, they I'd recommend you do it. Few of my buddies also have the 6.7 and have been denied warranty work because of the tuners (one's a smarty, one's an h&s)... These funky vg turbos ain't cheap either. Mines staying bone stock for now

^^Before you go jumping the gun saying the sky is falling remember one thing about your warranty, there has to be a problem CAUSED by your modification, not just be present. They can not void your powertrain warranty just because you installed a programmer, however, if you run your programmer on the 'insane' setting and melt a turbo, blow a tranny, or other such occurances, then you kind of asked for it. If you use the programmer to perform deletes but don't run any of the performance tunes, most dealerships that I have dealt with are quite understanding, it may be because I'm in Alberta and this is Canada's truck country.

Default Egr delete

I'm thinking of the smarty tuner and the dpf delete and waiting on the egr delete. What is the thoughts of that? moparguy62 at aol

Don't know if you can program the '12s yet, even in the diesels. I'll have to look into it.

True, but murphy's law would insist that as soon as I do deletes, something simple and expensive, like head gasket or turbo would crap out and I'd be left high and dry... But if you have the extra coin incase a problem like that arises, then deletes are the only way to go. Most dealerships in the north east here are not delete friendly and will gladly bend you over on a warranty claim on deleted trucks

Default 2012 deletes

bought my 2012 2500 longhorn and found like many the milage was between 15 and 16 mpg and about 9 towing my 16000 pound toyhauler. owned a 2005 before and was very pleased with 20 mpg not towing.
deceided to buy an H&S and did the deletes and removed all the crap on the exhaust system.
results 18.5 all around and 12 towing. left the original muffler sound is the same.
yea if something goes wrong that requires warrenty it will rewquire me reinstalliong the pipe and pulling tuner then crosssing fingers. I am basing my confidence in the cummins powerplant by my past experience 7 years and only an ac blower motor for any warrenty. yeah i know anything can happen but sometimes ya gotta pull the trigger and roll !!!
love the truck now no codes or issues i run the tuner on stock so i am not overloading any systems so if something goes it wont be the tuners fault. H&S very good on customer service also.
goona pull the toyhauler to wv in a month man i love my diesel!!
