Default What's a good price for a used 2005 5.7

I have found a 2005 5.7 out of a ram and was wondering what you guys thought was a good price for the motor, PCM, and harness. I got the guy down to 900$ and was wondering if that was good? It's got 100k but is still in the truck and I can hear it run. Also keep in mind I have to pull it so that is why I'm asking what's a good price. Thanks

I have a friend that recently purchased a motor/trans/transfer case/wiring harness/pcm/stock manifolds/full exhaust out of a wrecked 07 Ram with 60k for $1400... So that should give you an idea see if he will throw in the trans too.

I would get the trans but it's a 2wd and I'm a 4x4. I could get everything. He has it all but I'm mostly interested in the motor, PCM and harness. But Im am still working on the price with him.

Your transfer case will bolt right up to that transmission its fairly simple to do if you have 3 or 4 jackstands and 1or 2 jacks. Gonna need at least a cherry picker a chain some bolts and some straps. Engine stand would be nice to get the block painted. Those transmissions are HEAVY as heck!

So the 05 tranny will bolt right up to my 03 transfer case? If so I might try and get the whole deal. I have engine stand, cherry picker, jacks and stands. What specialty tools do you think I need to due this. Is it pretty straight forward. I have never done before but I am very mechanically inclined and have the tools or can get them.

Yeh man you have a 45RFE which is identical to the 54RFE in every aspect only difference is the tuning. My buddy has a 02' 4.7 Dakota we just did an 07 ram hemi/trans swap and his dakota xfer case bolted right up to the 54RFE if that is in fact what is in that 05 ram.

The only thing that i would be worried about is whether that 05 wiring harness is a direct swap from yours and if all your dash connections will hook right up to the newer PCM... and everything else...
