i lifted the radio fuse with the wings on it. and that seemed to stop the problem but now i have no radio and no interior lights until the truck is running. makes no sence how it is getting power on the interior lights when truck is on i pulled the fuze eliminating the interior lights and radio. anyone have any ideas to why my battery is draining that fast when that fuse is in. battery is brand new
The operative here looks like " seemed to stop the problem ".... IF it HAS stopped draining your battery, it's seems apparent that the drain is on that leg of the system.
Check your interior lights switches. (dome, doors, emergency lights... etc.
Check for bad grounds or corroded connections on switches for equipment that will work with the key outta the truck. Something is drawing a lot of current for a 3 hour discharge..
BE sure all battery grounds are solid.. to the motor and to the chassis.
Good luck... use patience to isolate one thing at a time.
