well that's weird. Are you saying that the USB casing was keeping the USB tongue from slipping in all the way to be read?
Well glad that you were able to get it going.

Default To XSDBS

Hi XSDBS, thanks again for all the info you posted in this thread. I'd like to try and PM you and get your set of instructions and files to use, but I need a minimum of 25 posts, and I just bought the truck yesterday and signed up this morning.

If you are so inclined and wouldn't mind again helping out another chap, could I ask you to email me directly at (acaffiero at google mail) (edited gmail email to avoid spam)...
thanks

Here, I'll try to go one better. This may help others doing it this way anyhow. Here's the instructions:

Download it to a thumb drive that has no other files on it. If you have files on it, please delete them and format the drive (to FAT32) just to make sure that it is completely clean.
Turn the radio on, Place the thumb drive in the center console USB connector (on vehicles with the dealer installed unit, it should be in the glove box), press and hold the Uconnect button for about 12 - 15 seconds, you should here "update started". This process should take about 15 - 20 minutes, there will be some beeps during the process. Please listen during the update for any error message that may be said by Uconnect. When the update is completed, the radio screen will go back to a radio display. Now plug in your iPhone or iPod and let it be read by Uconnect, does it start playing after being read?

and here's the link:

Bearsfan, this is just for the uc system and wont change the radio sw version. I do believe there is an update for the radio. I'll look into it for you and get back.

If you want to set up an email just for this and then shut it down after we get you taken care of that would be ok.

Well let's try this instead. ( I am new with this stuff and hope this works.) I just loaded it on Mediafire.
******NOTE to anyone that also decides to use this file. This particular file is for vehicles with High Speed CAN BUS, which is most of the vehicles, including the Ram.

fingers are crossed.

Here's the Uconnect update and instructions:

Let me know how this works out for you.

What says "searching"? I have to reboot my 4S a few times a month for various reasons. Have you tried to reboot the phone? Hold the home and power button til the apple comes on the screen, then release them. The phone will power down and then reboot. Try the pairing again.

You're welcome. I do this periodically even if I think everything is working ok. I have noticed sometimes that the phone doesn't ring or I'm not getting notifications for emails or messages (outside of the car, just everyday usage).
