Installed my system a few days ago (still waiting on a box for my sub) and so far I am very happy with my work and the system.
Sirius tuner + Pioneer kit
Polk Audio DB351 for the dash speakers
Rockford Fosgate R1693 for the door speakers
Kicker ZX700.5 amp
Kicker L7 waiting on box..
Before I started ANY of the project I wanted to find out if my "Trial Year" of Sirius would transfer to a new HU (because I still have ~9 months left on it).
First time I called I was told NO, it can not be transferred. When I got my Sirius paperwork in the mail a week later I was reading through it and noticed it said in fine print "Any subscription can be transferred but there will be a fee of blah blah blah".
So I called back ready to put up an argument that ANY subscription can be transferred. I got a girl on the line and she said "Yeah you can transfer it to a new head unit, no problem.. there wont even be a fee because its on the trial year." I didn't even have to put up a fight, she was very helpful
So I go ahead and order all my parts and get it installed last weekend. Had to buy the Sirius kit for $100 but hey Im getting a free year of it so why not? Plus I have found some good music on there.
Call them with my new sirius ID for the transfer and I am told "Sorry but we cant do that, its against the agreement for Sirius and Chrysler. BUT we can give you 5 months for $20 or a year for $75."
I called 3 different days and got told the same thing.. each time I asked for a manager after the first person told me NO and the managers would offer me different packages for a discount.
The 3rd time I was on hold for a manager I got disconnected so I called back and got the girl that told me it was gonna be NO PROBLEM. I told her the story and she said "no problem!" ..
All I had to pay was the $15 transfer fee
So after 4 different people told me it was impossible and that option was not even in the system, once I got a hold of the right person it only took 2 or 3 mins.
