I just hope that CORP comes through and gives me a total repaint, because the quote the dealer sent in is from a FANTASTIC auto body shop here. They do great work.
Hope Chrysler takes care of you and lets you get the repaint done at the shop of your choice. Nothing beats a custom paint job done by an experienced professional. Maybe you will end up with show quality paint after all!

*Update*

The dealer called me today and told me that at the end of the month that a Dodge Rep is coming to take a look at my truck. The only thing that kinda worries me is that the rep wont be able to see the stripping on the left fender, passenger doors, and Hood. I know he will be able to see the Bed of the truck in any light, but you can only see the Fender, Hood and doors in low lighting. Im sure that he will tell me that they will only Re-paint the Bed.

If thats the case and they only approve a bed re-paint, then Im going to tell him that I will see them in Court. Im not going to settle for just a re-paint of the bed when the fender is bad in spots, the hood, and both passenger doors. I will just file a lawsuit against the Crystler Corp. and I will win because I have the proof in the truck.

So, any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated from the forum.

Man that sucks! I have a 2010 sport in silver and my paint is pretty good. There is one spot on the drivers door where it looks like a small run, but unless you are a few inches away you can't see it. I've heard some horror stories of repainting too, it looks good at first but flakes, peels or just looks like crap a few years later, and they won't do anything about it 'cause its too long after. Also, make sure that you arrange the repainting and submit the bill to Chrysler. Otherwise, even if you choose the painter, Chrysler may just give the guy "x" dollars to do the job; and his quality may reflect the $$$ he is given.

Yeah, thats pretty much whats going to happen. The dealer submitted a couple of prices from different shops around town, so Im sure I will get a Cheapo Paint Job. Im really pissed about this situation. The customer shouldn't have to go through this crap with a BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I may just keep it a year then trade it in on something else. This is my first Dodge and Im pretty disappointed with them. I know that other companies have their own horror stories, but it still sucks.

I like my truck, its just seeing the paint everyday, irritates the hell out of me.

I have the same issue with mine. I have had the hood, tailgate and front fenders repainted. Now after having it 5 months, I have spots popping out from under the paint everywhere. I contacted a ram specialist and a dealer. Have taken pictures today. Now waiting on the outcome. It better be a good on though. I have owned about 8 rams now and this is the first paint issue. This will be my last one if I have to fight for what is right.

Default Just Curious

Browsing through this thread I noticed some stuff that is similar to my own 2013 Ram 4x4 (bought in September) and with all the Chrome reflections in the Dealer Lot we didn't notice these light grey 'circles' and a splotch of metallic in the paint that looked like the truck had been patched and touched up by a paint brush - until we got home.
Did the Chrysler Co. do a good repaint job?
It took 3 1/2 months and a nasty e-mail to Chrysler Canada to get a warranty approval and get the dealer to re-paint it. Problem is it looks worse after their paint job (looks like a dapple grey Arabian horse color) - they are going to look at it tomorrow and I will be pushing for it to be redone the second time.
