Default Front end issue

Took my 09 Ram into the dealership last night to have the oil changed and after a few minutes one of the techs comes in and said they found a front end issue on the passenger side. He ends up taking me into the shop and while the truck is on the lift, grabs a hold of the passenger side tire and was visablily able to move the tire back and forth (not turning the tire). He told me all the techs were gone for the night, but they were going to look at it today. So waiting on hearing back from them today to figure out what is wrong with it.

Anyone else have an issue like this with their Ram? Luckly I am still under the original bumper-to-bumper warranty, so shouldn't be any charge to me.

Were you subject to the tie rod recall? Perhaps one of them has failed or is failing on your truck. I had the tie rod recall done some time ago - they replaced the tie rod ends with different ends as the original ones were subject to water ingress and they would fail prematurely (at least that's what I was told).

You have your warranty anyway, but this might be part of that recall if it's a tie rod end.

Received a call late this morning, it was the tie rods. Was told that both tie rods were replaced under warranty, and I can pick it up tonight.

I honestly wasn't aware of the tie rod recall until doing a little digging around today. I didn't receive any notices about the recall like I have the others, so I don't think I was part of the recall. Last time the truck was in for service was in September of last year.

Yeah, it was only certain years - if I am not mistaken, might have been only 2010, but like you, I haven't received notices for all recalls. I've had to check on Dodge's site by my VIN, and I've had one pop up there without me getting a notice in the mail, so I thought maybe this recall was out for your year as well.

Glad you got it sorted out -

I just had a tie rod end put on my '10 CC SLT. I was changing the oil and decided to check the front suspension. It was covered under warranty, just had to get them to align it twice to get it right. I'll check again on my next oil change and it won't suprise me if the other one is bad. Glad I have a warranty.

In Canada the recall included the 2009 and I was mailed a letter from Dodge to make an appointment to get it done. I did buy my truck used from my Dodge dealer so they had my information to notify me. I never had any problems with mine but got them changed for the recall.

I just found out about the recall when in for an oil change. They told me that I would have to pay for an alignment after the new tie rod ends were installed because that wasn't covered by the recall.

Has anyone had their alignment (a proper machine alignment, not a guy with a tape measure) covered as part of the tie rod replacement?
