Default wax it myself, or take it somewhere?

Last tuesday I bought a quad cab 1500 in mineral gray. I wanna keep the paint in pristine condition for as long as possible, so I know it needs to be waxed. Should I do it myself or take it somewhere? I've waxed one vehicle and that was probably 5 years ago. I know the gist of it, but with this being a brand new vehicle I wanted some opinions. Thoughts?

I agree with doing it yourself. I use the turtle wax that comes in a small container with a sponge at the top compartment. Its simple to do, just dip the sponge in the wax wipe it on and let it sit for a little until it dries then wipe it off. It'll take a few hours but it's definitely worth it in the long run.

I'm a DIY kind of guy when it comes to waxing/polishing. I use Meguiar's Tech Wax. Goes on and comes off very easily and leaves a coat that lasts 2-3 months.

Tip: Apply the wax in straight lines, do not apply in a circular motion.

Yep DIY only. Use a clay bar 1st, then a wax of your choice. You will love the results.

+1 on the clay bar. The slickness of the paint is amazing after its done. A sealant/glaze will last longer than a wax so depending on how often you like doing it that's another option.
