Default New to me trailer and first TT tow.

I bought a 25' (including tongue)Skyline today. Trip home was about 120 miles 20 of which was freeway and the rest was highyway consisting of tons of curves and hills. I averaged 10.8 on the EVIC. Rated at 4100ish empty. It towed just fine and I dont have a WDH yet. Barely drops the rear end with it empty. Also, the factory brake controller I installed seemed to work just fine. I have towed my 2500 lb boat a bit but this was my first TT. 2010 TRX4 with 3.92s.

Yeah, my TT which is slightly heavier doesn't require a WDH either, though I did do some Airlift airbags just for adjustability. I do use a friction swaybar for stability, however. A WDH is a nice feature, but it's also a little more "stuff" to putz with. I just completed a 1000+ mile trip with my TT, and even in 20-30 mph winds and driving amongst semi trucks, I had no issue at all. If you don't have a really heavy tongue weight, you can probably be well within any safety or mechanical parameters. And I agree...you can pull these medium weight TT's without even making the hemi sweat.

biggest thing to use the proper drop draw bar so the trailer sits perfectly level or maybe a 1/2 inch nose down. if the trailer is nose up it will handle like garbage and sway, also the weight wont be properly place amongst the 4 trailer tires, also try to distribute the weight (your gear) evenly in the trailer side to side, and not too much in the back of the trailer, ive towed up to 27 footers and never used a wdh or a sway bar, but the sway is nice to have in big cross winds, if i ever encounter these winds i slow down to 55-60 and always have my hand near the brake controller if the trailer starts swaying violently, which it never has, but i have seen the outcome of many times with a unskilled driver. my half ton was stock, but had napa load control coil over shocks which helped, my one ton is not an issue at all. and i would never tow over 60-65, even though people blaze past me at 70 with campers, they are risking everything for 5 minutes....not worth it.....
