Default 2002 V6 Wont start on first crank....unless warm....Fuel Pump??

Is this a common issue on these trucks? I just picked one up and it has 86k miles on it. never starts when cold on the first crank, have to do it twice then fires up. After warm it starts on the first crank most times but not always.

Just looking for any advice or tips on changing it myself and where is recommended to purchase the replacement or where to stay away from on parts.

Thanks!
Dave

That is one of the signs of a fuel pump on it's way out with these magnums atleast. If you hook up a fuel pressure gauge the pressure should read 43 PSI =/- 3PSI. Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fitting on the fuel rail.
