Default Edge TC and winter

I am wondering how my truck is going to drive in the winter with an edge TC with 2800 stall. I have not installed it yet but a local guy says I will hate it in the snow...can anyone give me feedback.

If you have a 2WD? they're probably right.

My 2800 Edge will break both rear tires loose with just half throttle on clean dry pavement.
But in the Winter, I have to use 4WD Auto Mode (AWD) or it wont even move if the roads are icy.

If you have a limited slip and VERY good dedicated Winter tires, you might be okay, but you'll still need a soft foot on the gas pedal.

I have 4x4 so that is good. So I will be fine as long as I have a soft foot and have it in AWD. I was worried because the guy told me if I put the TC on all I am asking for is a bunch of problems...

4x4 you're good to go

I've used my 4 auto setting a LOT more since the TC swap
...even use it at the track for extra traction when track prep is poor.

are you a fan of the e-cutout or should I just stick with the shorties and the magnaflow with the y pipe?

From what I've read, the e-cutout is for LOUD, not performance.

...most guys I know that run a fairly stock motor with headers and a decent exhaust keep the cut-out closed for better performance at the track.

They only open it up for the burnout lol!

it would be fun I suppose, but never interested me enough to pay for one.
