Default Smoked a Challenger in my 1500 !!!

LOL. Kid came up to a stoplight. Still had temp plates on his car. Gave er a few throttle bursts. I look over, light turns green and all he saw was my tail lights. We let off the gas at 100mph. Poor kid, prolly go tell his dad he wants new RAM now instead of his R/T Hemi CHallenger.

He still needs to get use to the throttle response and kid is probably a new driver and needs to work on his reaction time.

Yes it should, the car is lighter and more aerodynamic then the truck. The transmission in the car also has a faster shift time. Anyway's like I said he was a kid so his reaction time isn't very good, hect with temp plates he still hasn't learned how long it takes for the car to start moving from the time he hits the pedal (throttle response).

What I do once in a blue while is one foot on the brake and the other on the gas lightly enough to bring up the RPM's a few hundred this will keep torque management off your handle and it gives you a better reaction time.

I was just being a little sarcastic, I would hope a car that weighs 1000lbs less with the same engine would run better. While the Challengers arent the fastest of the newest breed of ponycars an R/T will run mid/high 13s in decent air.

I ran my 2010 CC 20" tire 3.55 Ram once for the heck of it when the car I towed to the track broke, 15.20 if I remember

Of course I'm not saying the OP didnt beat one. But most likely the kid wasn't racing, it was a V6, or it was a manual and he couldn't shift.

Yea, Still fun though....and I mean kid by, looked to be late 20's. I'm sure the challenger could have taken me if properly driven, but that wasn't the point of my story , have a buddy with a 2009 Daytona, we stay close , but again, I'm sure it's all driver

Yea chrysler is what it is chrysler so they aren't going to design it to be as fast as it could be, but that's the beauty of it, you do a little modification here and there and before you know it you have one sweet machine!

You're running 2 seconds faster then me, same axle ratio but I'm running with a 14" rolling radius.

A win is a win, on the street I have seen some pretty fast cars lose I'm sure the challenger guy was surprised either way.

The truck was in some good weather at Bowling Green as well, it could have been slower than that but I really dont remember that well.

Too bad Chrysler locked out the computer on the 2011s though, not much you can do with them My last driver was a 2011 Mustang GT with a 2.3 TVS, tune and drag radials (auto car). Easiest 10 second car I ever threw together:

Until they crack the code on the 2011s this challenger will stay pretty stock, it wont be as quick as the 500lb lighter mustang but I'd be happy with mid - 11s

Some people are swapping 2010 harnesses and PCMs in the 2011+ Challengers, not worth 2K in extra parts, easier to trade this for a 2010 SRT and go from there. Honestly I didnt know until after I bought it they were locked.

I'm not brand loyal, I tend to try just about everything, the Mustang was just a quick experiment. I'm more of a GM guy but I hate the new Camaro and I think you get more for your money with the new Rams as far as trucks. I always wanted a Challenger since they came out and impulse bought it when I sold the '11 Mustang. Love the car, its just a little slow
