I have 3.55's and it's not really that bad
although I am planning for some 4.56's sometime this year.

Get yourself a good torque converter and a set of shorter drag radials.
Launching at 3k will get you past most of the factory TM, even without tuning.

I run an Edge 3000 stall and 27" tall Mickey Thompson 295/45R17's ET Street drag radials, effective gear ratio is about 4.30:1.

10' RCSB 4x4, 5300lbs pulls 1.8's for 60', 8's in the 8th, and 13's in the quarter....at over 2500' DA

Also just an aside, you said 2012, is it past the "break in point"? I've heard these trucks dial it down til you're over x km's. Maybe someone can confirm this.

If you were running your stock 20" wheel/tire combo, @ 33" tire circumference it does get rid of some off the line launch. Try switching to 30" or even better 27-29" tires for dragging. Just grab a speedo calibrator so transmission and wheel speed sensors all work in harmony. You'd be surprised how many tenths you pick up just correcting your final gear ratio with tires alone. And for us 4x4's, it's a much cheaper route than replacing front and rear gear and pinions plus a set of lightweight wheels and drag radials. Like BlackRamHemi said, he's running between a 27-27.45" drag tire among other upgrades with the 3.55's and does really good. Just another alternative to try before you swap out gears; AND it'd be a good hard data comparison between both applications.

I swithced from 3.55s to 4.10s too. I choose to do the gears b/c at the time I wasn't planning on swapping the torque converter but now I kinda want one. I also don't plan on going to a shorter tire and/or lowering the truck. IMHO a shorter tire would look good and work great but only if you drop it a little to close up the wheel-wells.

If you are 2wd I'd do the gears first since you already have them. Just don't forget a Posi or a Tru Trac.

the dealership gave me the ring and pinion, bearings, and pinion seal for free since they couldnt find a truck with the gear ratio i wanted.. its a 2 wheel drive so im gonna get them gears put in there and see what happens and maybe get a good stall a little later..i sure wish someone would crack the code for a tuner!!

These trucks are DOGS out of the whole with 3.55s. They come with the 3.92 package as well, but if you chose your truck off the lot and didnt ask or know of that there is your problem. I also have 3.55s in my CC Lone Star 12'. BUT I chose those as it was the cheaper option and within a couple months I would be dumping 4.10s in there.

Anyways, again your problem is the gear ratio, 3.55s are very, very, very hard to spin. They wont from a strait dog, and even if you are launching at 2k they wont even churp. The 3.92s put the 3.55s to shame that's for sure.
let me stop you their mine has 3.55s and i pull a 2.04 60ft 8.84 1/8
