The pigtail was already there just taped to the main harness.

I have the the upper glove-box parts coming for my Express.Besides removing the lower glove-box are there any other parts that need to be removed before I install the upper-glovebox?

Yes. Be sure to remove the lower glovebox and look behind it there is a small sheet metal screw that is used to retain the upper glove box bin. Remove it then you will easily be able to remove the upper bin.

I didn't remove that screw and ended up breaking the plastic mount in the upper glove box bin...no big deal it was being discarded anyway. You will want to use that screw on the new glove box bin though.

I did that yesterday myself with that screw, was trying to take it out to replace the dash speaker. That tab breaks real easy, I didn't use any more force on it than I used to pull the radio bezel off.
